Some things never change... People always wanted & want some entertainment 🎤🎭🎪🎬and art that touches their hearts. Being a performer myself (Check my work on www.planetmaja.com) I could NOT help myself from visiting the ancient theatre at Petra.. What stories were told here to the audience thousands years ago? 🎭😱🎭

Carved at the foot of the High Place of Sacrifice, the theatre consists of three rows of seats and can accommodate 4000 spectators. It was built under Aretas IV (9 BC-40 AD) and with its large capacity was positioned to bring the greatest number of tombs within view. Although Roman in design, being carved out rather than built this place is distinctly Nabataean and vey unique. 👏

Practical TIP: it is not accessible to everyone... but if you are polite and ask the guard very nicely, he may let you enter the place for a short time. Be respectful and ..careful - you will need to climb over a metal fence, possibly - like me here - in a dress so.. always stay safe! 💃🏻
