I am very happy to announce, this summer 2017 I have several shows across London: On 27th Of July , together with Steve Ashcroft on keys, I will be performing some famous pop numbers, as part of the Pizza Express The Live Playlist programme of shows all across the capital. Join us from 8 pm at The Wapping Pizza Express – 78-80 Wapping Lane, E1W. Later on in the month & in August, following the success of last year’s shows, I will be performing at the incredible Eltham Palace and its gardens. My jazz trio will perform as part of the Lazy Jazz Sunday programme on 30th July, 13th and 20th August starting at midday and finishing around 3:30 pm after 3 sets of 45 minutes with breaks in between. Eltham Palace is a hidden cultural gem worth visit on its own so do join me on one of the lazy Sundays and enjoy the extra fun with our performance of most famous jazz standards. I might even add a few of my original songs 🙂 Hope to see you...

New adventures with presenting :) 2016 & onwards

A week ago, I attended a course I had dreamt of for a while: TV presenting training with TV academy in Pinewood Studios. I love being creative, and MUSIC will always stay & have a special place in my life. Acting is a big love too, but sadly due to my French / Polish background, I only got to be cast as lovers, cleaners, prostitutes or other country stereotypes. A few years ago I discovered how much I love travelling, and so, going back to my journalist background, I have for long thought of learning more about working as TV presenter to meet incredible people from all around the world & e.g. film a series around my one more love: TEA :). I worked as a presenter before, but tt was amazing to meet fellow presenters, including Finnish documentary maker Iris Olsson (see below), and hone our skills together . It was hard work, especially as I was suffering from a nasty cold, but also great fun to practice writing scripts, learning all the ins and out of the studio, and working with the camera. I simply cannot wait to share with you the end result – my final presenter showreel.     I hope the training will help me experience adventures all around our beautiful planet & visit places I have not even heard of! Stay tuned and cross fingers 🙂...

Thoughts after a show – on being safe & everything turning out OK :)

So I had a show… Again.. of my original songs in which embarrassingly I recently seem to lose all possible faith – my only children: my hug-songs.. and I have been such a bad mother.. If you have read my previous post, you know that – well let’s just say I kind of stopped hoping any of friends would ever make it to one of my shows 😉 Which is kind of good, because I would like to try to hope that my music could just touch some people & people would like it for its sake, and not come as my friends to help me feel better when I lose faith.. So it did not bother me at all. I kind of planned a pause on live gigs (because ‘ no one ever came’ anyway, and well some people I admire, like Stina N, never play live anyway ..) & focus on starting fundraising – via pledge music – for my EP recording project. Thing I was meant to do months ago but well then the faith thing started happening and well.. one gets always busy in London right? (especially when you are good at perfectionism & procrastination 😉. So for tonight I kind accepted some time ago not many may actually make it to the show… but then a friend said she would come. AND bring a friend. And another long lost friend got back in touch saying it was her birthday and she would make her birthday do in the pub where the show was taking place. And another suddenly decided to show up. with a friend too. AND...

Thoughts after a show – on serving ….

So today I had a show… Seems normal but actually only last year & unplanned I suddenly became a ‘band’ on my own & got forced to also become a pianist after nearly 20 years of not touching the keys..And this time, the show was in an old stinky pub round the corner… Sadly as most times they did not have a piano so I had to drag down my mini (=sounding sh**) shaky keyboard & pretend I can play it… And, as usual, with so many friends that “so much want to see me live blah blah”, no one could make it… Ok London is big & there s so many much more fun things to do 🙂 & when there is deluge outside – like tonight – it does not encourage you to go anywhere let alone cross the river 😉 but even though you know & understand it all, it still hurts when you realise after 10 years none of the people you know can show up at your show ((thank you so so so SO much to all who ever came to my shows!!! I was nearly physically ill – I knew I could still run away, & I kept asking myself why I keep doing it to myself: why I keep playing live on shit keyboard? Why do I keep sharing my songs at all? when maybe it s all sh** & I should have stopped ages ago… WHY? I promised I would NEVER do it again. EVER. In nervousness, I panicked & texted a friend to feel better. Aren’t you supposed to share...
